Williams-Sonoma Wants

PeppermintBark

One of the things I love most about the holidays comes from Williams-Sonoma. Their Peppermint Bark is to die for. I’m not crazy about peppermint (don’t like candycanes or even mints that much), but this stuff is good. The right combo and balance of chocolate, mint and peppermint. The only downside is the price, but it is so worth it. They’re usually giving out samples in store, so you can try before you buy.

And if you are looking for a good gift for someone who is hard to shop for or need a good hostess gift, let me recommend the William-Sonoma’s dishcloths and towels. They are super absorbent, launder well and last forever. They are one of my go-to gifts in a pinch. Plus, you can get them in fun fall colors.

And how cute are these holiday pancake molds? WANT!

Shoe Snob

I am a shoe snob. I will only consider wearing certain brands because my feet are picky and hurt in other brands. It kinda makes me sad because I can’t buy shoes from Payless or Target. But, on the other hand, I know these brands will keep me comfortable and the shoes will last longer. Its just the prices that I dislike.

I’m on the hunt for new black boots. I really want a pair of riding boots and a pair of black booties. One problem I have with knee-high boots is that they don’t go over my calves, but I have had luck with the brands below before in fitting over the runner’s calves. Here are the ones I’m drooling over from Zappos:

Now back to work on the finding a job part so I can buy new shoes! Is anyone else the same way about shoe brands or am I just a snob?

Give & Get Skinny Jeans

Skinny_Jeans

Never thought I would say this, but I just brought my first pair of skinny jeans today. My brown boots are too pretty to hide under jeans and I didn’t own a pair that was skinny enough to go inside the boot. After reading about Gap’s new jeans on countless blogs this summer combined with a 30 percent off coupon for the Gap, well I own this pair now. And they look super cute on my figure, never thought I’d be able to pull it off!

I was also able to score a sweater, cami and headband (with a bow! its cute, really.)  for less than the regular price of the jeans.

And if you want to go on a shopping spree at Banana Republic, Gap or Old Navy this weekend, the company is in the midst of its Give and Get promotion. Here’s a coupon for 30 percent off all items, including sale items. What’s even better is that five percent of your purchase benefits the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, a cause very close to my heart. A win win if you ask me! The coupon is good till Sunday.

Happy Friday!

The Weekend

I’ve been in a slump lately, so here’s how I can sum up my weekend:

* Friday, I watched Revolutionary Road. Great movie, but very heartbreaking. Kinda makes me want to go to Paris and find myself.
* Saturday, I helped my friend Lisa celebrate her birthday/graduation. We realized that we were old enough to have given birth to some of the guys of the bar we were in. But, it was still a fun night.
* Stats, how I loathe thee. I’m taking a class to beef up my math skills before I start the MBA and I spent all weekend on two assignments. Including an hour on one problem. Nuts.
* The Gap and I have a love-hate relationship. Sometimes the clothes are great and sometimes they aren’t. I stopped by after my haircut this weekend and picked up a few things at a great price. I walked out with the below, plus three pairs of socks for $20, yay for good deals.
