Last week, I came up with a new rule. No trips to Target or the craft store unless I go to the gym, which happens to be near these stores. Its a win-win, I actually use my gym membership and save gas. This weekend, the rule came into play and I needed to kick off half-marathon training. I took down all my Christmas decor and everything was looking a little bare. I found this tutorial and this example and knew I had to make one to cure the emptiness left by putting away the Christmas stuff.
All you need is a wire hanger in a circle shape, one yard of fabric cut into strips (I used 1.5 x 7 inches), a glass of wine and the TV. I finished this in about one hour and it cost about $5. I think it would be fun to make one for each holiday, don’t you? Happy crafting.
Please excuse the photos, I am forcing myself to not rely on the auto mode on my camera and I still have a long way to go.
Whoa, we’ve almost made it through one day of 2011.
Time flies when you’re so so busy. I’ve never been a consistent blogger to begin with, but with school I barely had time to breathe and catch up. And when I did, I had no idea how to jump back in. But, I’ll begin again because one day I’ll want to go back and look at old posts and remember what I did, how I felt, and what inspired me.
I don’t have any official New Years resolutions, but I do have goals. There’s just something refreshing about starting off with a clean slate.
Health & Fitness:
- Successfully train for a half-marathon in the spring and a full in the fall.
- Don’t neglect strength training.
- Track my workouts.
- Continue trying new recipes and cooking more.
- Revive my flickr account.
- Stop shooting on auto.
- Back up my photos (and everything else)
Home:
- Finish decorating dining and living area.
- Make headboard for bedroom and refinish dresser.
- Explore the costs of doing a bathroom remodel and proceed if its doable.
- Get rid of stuff I don’t need and purge often.
- Be present.
- Travel.
- Put myself out there more.
- Blog more, ’nuff said.
Happy New Year! Hope you have a wonderful year.
